Bulk and Brush Refuse Collection

Bulk and brush refuse is collected Monday thru Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Requests are serviced on a first come/first served basis. Trucks are assigned through the City, not in specific areas or zip codes.

City residents must either call the Customer Care Center at 3-1-1 or (804) 646-7000 or log onto http://www.richmondgov.com/mpact/ to request a pick up. Items must be placed out for collection on the day the request is made, in the event crews are able to pick it up on that day.

There is a $50 service fee for the removal of appliances. Bulk and brush pick up will be collected within 10 working days of the request with no service fee. If applicable, the service fees will be applied to the residents utility bill.

City residents can dispose of appliances; bulk and brush refuse items for free by taking them to the East Richmond Road Convenience Center, 3800 E. Richmond Rd., or the Southside Transfer Station, 3560 N. Hopkins Rd.

Free Mulch

Just bring your vehicle to our landfill site at East Richmond Road and get as much as you want.  You can get there from Government Road, then north on Jennie Scher Road, then left on East Richmond Road.  The entrance is on the left.  You can also get there through Church Hill.  Check your city map or call 3-1-1 for help.

Due to potential liability matters, City employees are not able to assist you with loading mulch onto your vehicle.

Project WARM

“Firewood” within the City goes toward helping those in need through the Salvation Army and Project WARM. If you, or someone you know is in need of firewood during the winter, please contact Project Warm at (804) 225-7470.

Graffiti Hot-Line. Those who create graffiti get satisfaction out of seeing their monikers – therefore it is important to call these in as soon as you see one. The City is committed to cleaning up all graffiti as soon as feasible….but they need our help! As soon as you notice graffiti, call it in and the city will put it on their clean-up list. By the way, it does not have to be on your property! 804-646-0999
